Morristown-Beard is 1-8 against Roxbury since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Crimson will head out on the road to face off against the Gaels at 4:00 p.m. Morristown-Beard is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
While Morristown-Beard didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over Parsippany on Wednesday. The game was the first time the Crimson have beaten the Redhawks on their field since May 11, 2016.
Austin Gildea made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gildea was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season.

In other pitching news, Morristown-Beard got a great performance from Sam Bastardo as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Bastardo has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Sam Cherins, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Alex Hriczov was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Roxbury). They put the hurt on Watchung Hills Regional with a sharp 15-7 win on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Gaels.
Roxbury pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Morristown-Beard, their record is now 9-1.
Morristown-Beard suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Roxbury when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Crimson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
