Softball Recap: Mishawaka Marian Knights vs. Glenn Falcons
Mishawaka Marian extended their losing streak to seven on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 2-8 in the process. They lost 11-1 to the Glenn Falcons. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 7-4 to the Falcons when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Mishawaka Marian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Halle Pedraza, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Mari Cline also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
As for Glenn, the win got them back to even at 6-6. They not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 10th (when they won 22-3).
On Glenn's side, the team relied heavily on Makinzie Kline, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave Kline a new career-high. Payton Thomas was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mishawaka Marian will venture away from home to face off against Hammond Morton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Glenn, they will head out to square off against Elkhart Christian Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
