Basketball Recap: Gulf Breeze Dolphins vs. Navarre Raiders
The Gulf Breeze Dolphins had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 62-54 victory over Navarre on Friday. For Gulf Breeze, this counts as revenge for the 78-69 defeat the Raiders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Gulf Breeze's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trent Peak led the charge by scoring 21 points. Roman Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Gulf Breeze's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-10. As for Navarre, they dropped their record down to 12-13 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Gulf Breeze will take on the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pace will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 600th, while the Dolphins are ranked 276th). As for Navarre, they will head out on the road to face off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crestview is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
