Basketball Game Preview: Mourning Sharks vs. Coral Park Rams

The Mourning Sharks will challenge the Coral Park Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.

Mourning is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game last Saturday. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 74-71 heartbreaker at the hands of Goleman. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Sharks have suffered since December 3, 2024.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Alan Gomez, who went 11 for 16 on his way to 24 points. Pablo Rivas was another key player, going 5 of 7 en route to 13 points along with seven steals and six assists.

Meanwhile, Coral Park entered their contest against Westwood Christian on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Coral Park fell just short of Westwood Christian by a score of 58-56. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mourning's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Coral Park, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5.

Mourning skirted past Coral Park 60-57 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Will Mourning repeat their success, or does Coral Park have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
