Recap: Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes vs. Fort Dorchester Patriots
The Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Fort Dorchester by a score of 52-45. This was payback for Ashley Ridge, who suffered a 59-51 loss the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ashley Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Javion Gathers, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Jordan Davis was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Fort Dorchester still got an impressive performance from Ashton Washington, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Bryan Bright, who scored six points along with two steals and two blocks.
Ashley Ridge pushed their record up to 11-7 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Fort Dorchester, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-6.
Ashley Ridge will head out on the road to face off against Pinewood Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Pinewood Prep is ranked 62nd, while Ashley Ridge is ranked 83rd). As for Fort Dorchester, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Lucy Beckham at 5:30 p.m. Lucy Beckham will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
