Softball Recap: Mattanawcook Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Mattanawcook put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Lee Academy Pandas 20-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lynx also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Julianna Cloukey was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Cloukey was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Cyr, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Megan House was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

Mattanawcook was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .643. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Mattanawcook pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Lee Academy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mattanawcook will face off against Dexter at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lee Academy, they will head out to face off against Searsport at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
