Softball Game Preview: Wapakoneta Redskins vs. Shawnee Indians

Wapakoneta is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Shawnee is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Redskins will host the Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Wapakoneta 3.2, Shawnee 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Wapakoneta was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Van Wert on Tuesday. The Redskins put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 8-1 victory. Considering the Redskins have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Shawnee earned a 6-1 win over New Bremen on Thursday.

Wapakoneta now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Shawnee, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.

Everything went Wapakoneta's way against Shawnee in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Wapakoneta made off with a 14-4 win. Do the Redskins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
