Baseball Recap: Coleman's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Coleman made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bangs, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Coleman Bluecats blew past the Bangs Dragons 15-1 on Tuesday. The Bluecats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Brayden Torres was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He also put up two RBI, which were his first of the season.

In other batting news, Braylon Stewart was a standout: he scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Edington, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Coleman, bringing their record for this year to 12-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bangs, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5.

Coleman will have a chance to go back-to-back against Bangs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
