Volleyball Recap: Charlestown Takes a Loss

Charlestown was the 2-1 winner over Crawford County when they last played one another back in September of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Pirates took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolfpack on Saturday. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Charlestown was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-18.

Kylie Thacker paced Charlestown's offense, picking up six kills. Thacker got some help from Adi Burchel and her 11 assists. Burchel was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Charlestown's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Crawford County, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-9.

Charlestown has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Eastern on the 16th. As for Crawford County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Clarksville on the 15th.
