Football Recap: Tattnall Square Academy Comes Up Short

Tattnall Square Academy had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-9 to make it eight. They had to suffer through a 52-7 loss at the hands of John Milledge Academy. While losing is never fun, Tattnall Square Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 428th, while John Milledge Academy is ranked 104th).

As for John Milledge Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.0 points over those games.

John Milledge Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Asa Wall led the charge by picking up 168 receiving yards and three TDs. Wall was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 59 yards. Lewis Cheney was another key passer, throwing for 182 yards and three touchdowns on only eight passes.
