Football Recap: Nipomo Turns Things Around After Road Loss + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Nipomo, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Arroyo Grande Eagles by a score of 33-25 on Friday. For the Titans, this counts as revenge for the 41-28 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Nick Evans produced another solid performance rushing for 181 yards and two touchdowns, while also catching one score. Troy Simonson also helped out with an impressive 87 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Nipomo was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 203 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Nipomo's defense stepped up as well, laying out Jacob Kreowski. three times. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Griffin Groshart and Travis Barr, who each picked up 0.5 sacks apiece.

Arroyo Grande's loss came despite strong showings from Zach Sumner and Kreowski. Sumner picked up 54 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, while Kreowski threw for 190 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.

The win got Nipomo back to even at 3-3. As for Arroyo Grande, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Nipomo will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Santa Maria at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. As for Arroyo Grande, they will take on Paso Robles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Bearcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
