Basketball Recap: St. Peter's Prep Comes Up Short

On Monday, the St. Peter's Prep Marauders ended up a good deal behind the Morris Catholic Crusaders and lost 76-58. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Marauders came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while the Crusaders are ranked 40th).

St. Peter's Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 18-4. As for Morris Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Looking ahead, St. Peter's Prep will be playing at home against Immaculate Conception at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Morris Catholic, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Kinnelon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Morris Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matchups -- so hopefully Kinnelon likes a good challenge.
