Football Recap: Coastal Academy's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak on the Road + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Coastal Academy can now relate to. They lost 28-7 to the Hilltop Lancers on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 33 points in the game before, the Stingrays couldn't push the score so high this time.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Leo Mendoza and Lajuan Johnson. Mendoza rushed for 128 yards and three TDs while Johnson rushed for 137 yards and one score. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Mendoza a new career-high.

Coastal Academy's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-2. As for Hilltop, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.

Coastal Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hilltop, they will challenge Westview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lancers' defense better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 27.6 points per game this season.
