Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Laynee Shields and Anna Hagen Lead Jackson Center to Victory

Jackson Center won the last time they faced Graham Local and things went their way on Saturday too. The Tigers walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Falcons.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Jackson Center took both sets by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-15.

Leading Jackson Center to victory were Anna Hagen and Laynee Shields. Hagen had four assists and three aces, while Shields had eight assists. That's the most assists Hagen has posted over her last two contests. Natalie Metzger also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Jackson Center was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Jackson Center's win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Graham Local, they are on a 33-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.

Looking ahead, Jackson Center will square off against Botkins at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Graham Local, they will head out to challenge Benjamin Logan at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
