Football Game Preview: Calhoun Academy Cougars vs. Wilkinson County Christian Academy Rams

The Calhoun Academy Cougars will face off against the Wilkinson County Christian Academy Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Calhoun Academy comes in on three and Wilkinson County Christian Academy on nine.

Calhoun Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Marvell Academy 46-12. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won six matchups by 24 points or more so far this season.

It was another big night for Carsen Stegall, who rushed for 75 yards and two scores on only six carries, and also threw for 26 yards and one TD. Bronnor Bingham got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Calhoun Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Bingham picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Wilkinson County Christian Academy is ranked highly in their home state and last Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Tensas Academy. The Rams claimed a resounding 33-6 win over the Chiefs. The Rams are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the seventh game they've won by 20+ points this season.

Wilkinson County Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Calhoun Academy, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Calhoun Academy lost to Wilkinson County Christian Academy on the road by a decisive 62-44 margin in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
