Biddeford hadn't done well against South Portland recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Tigers walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Red Riots. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 6-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Ernie Dore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Landon Sirois, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Ben Descoteaux also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Biddeford's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for South Portland, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-3.
