Volleyball Recap: Simla Picks Up Third Consecutive Win + How To Watch

Simla extended their winning streak to three on Saturday, bumping them up to 8-2. They blew past the Wiggins Tigers 3-0. This was payback for the Cubs, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Simla found their leader in sophomore Ava Leininger, who had 27 digs and one assist. Those 27 digs set a new season-high mark for Leininger.

As for Wiggins, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since October 8, 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Wiggins lost, don't look at Kellie Vicchrilli. Despite the final result, she had 14 digs and two assists. Vicchrilli is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Looking ahead, Simla will welcome Hoehne at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Wiggins, they will face off against Akron at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last six games the Rams have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
