Basketball Recap: Kemp Comes Up Short

Kemp was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They took a blow against the Brownsboro Bears, falling 50-22. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1095th, while the Bears are ranked 256th).

Emma Bailey was Kemp's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Makayla Miller held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.

Kemp's defeat dropped their record down to 6-20. As for Brownsboro, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-11.

Kemp will head out to square off against Canton at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Canton will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Kemp surely won't give up without a fight. As for Brownsboro, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Athens at 6:00 p.m. Brownsboro has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
