Recap: New Creation Christian Academy Crusaders vs. Young Americans Christian Eagles
The New Creation Christian Academy Crusaders''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 50-14 loss at the hands of Young Americans Christian. New Creation Christian Academy lost against Young Americans Christian in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 40-28 score last time.
Jayden Sigur went supernova for Young Americans Christian, rushing for 162 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 35 yards and a touchdown on only three passes. Sigur was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards. Caleb Blunt was in the mix too, providing Young Americans Christian with two touchdowns.
New Creation Christian Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Young Americans Christian, Lafayette Christian, and Praise Academy. As for Young Americans Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Creation Christian Academy will take on Covington Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Covington Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Young Americans Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Central Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Central Christian is ranked 13th, while Young Americans Christian is ranked tenth).
