Volleyball Recap: Classical Academy Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Classical Academy can now relate to. They fell 3-1 to the Torrey Pines Falcons on Tuesday. If the Caimans were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Falcons when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Classical Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-16, 25-13, 25-17.

Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 23-12. As for Torrey Pines, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-7 record this season.

Classical Academy and Torrey Pines are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Caimans will challenge Cathedral Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Torrey Pines, they will square off against Canyon Crest Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Ravens will roll in looking for their 40th straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight.
