Football Game Preview: Princeton Vikings vs. Winton Woods Warriors

The Princeton Vikings will face off against the Winton Woods Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Princeton 13.8, Winton Woods 11.9) so any points scored will be well earned.

Princeton is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Middletown just ended the team's eight-game winning streak last Friday. They fell 14-6 to the Middies. The matchup marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Winton Woods walked away with it. They blew past the Panthers, posting a 39-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won six contests by 21 points or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Winton Woods and bumps their season record up to 9-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 16 points in those games. As for Princeton, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 8-2.

Princeton came up short against Winton Woods in their previous meeting back in August of 2015, falling 26-15. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
