Baseball Recap: Gray-New Gloucester Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Gray-New Gloucester dropped their record down to 5-4 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake Region Lakers. The Patriots were not able to make up for their loss to the Lakers from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Gray-New Gloucester saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jason Nevells, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

As for Lake Region, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games.

On Lake Region's side, the team relied heavily on Matt Plummer, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Peterson, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Gray-New Gloucester wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-4 defeat against York on the 21st. As for Lake Region, they have also already played their next game, a 19-6 victory against Poland on the 19th.
