Firelands extended their winning streak to 12 games thanks to a huge performance from Stella Frederick. The Falcons put the hurt on the Brookside Cardinals with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday with plenty of help from Frederick, who had 29 digs and five aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Firelands' got stronger as the match went on, holding Brookside to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-17, 25-10.

Despite the defeat, Brookside saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alyssa Popowski had 14 digs.

Firelands' win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Brookside, their loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-12.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Firelands and Ravenna will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Brookside, they will play host again on Saturday to welcome Trinity, where the match is scheduled at 10:30 a.m.
