Baseball Recap: Bunker Hill Takes a Loss

Bunker Hill lost against Newton-Conover back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Bunker Hill fell 7-2 to Newton-Conover. That's two games in a row now that the Bears have lost by exactly five runs.

Kamden Bortz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Bunker Hill is 3-1 when Bortz posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-5 otherwise.

Bunker Hill is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6. As for Newton-Conover, they moved to 4-5 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Bunker Hill has already played their next game, an 11-1 victory against West Iredell on the 24th. As for Newton-Conover, they will head out on the road to challenge West Caldwell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Caldwell has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.42 runs per game on average), something Newton-Conover will no doubt try to take advantage of.
