Basketball Recap: Nolan Rueff's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ashton-Franklin Center over Durand

Ashton-Franklin Center lost against Durand back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Ashton-Franklin Center Raiders fell just short of the Durand Bulldogs by a score of 56-54.

Ashton-Franklin Center's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nolan Rueff, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Brock Lehman, who put up 12 points.

Ashton-Franklin Center's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Durand, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6.

Ashton-Franklin Center will take on Byron in a tournament on Saturday. One thing working in Byron's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Durand, they will welcome North Boone at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
