Football Recap: Clinton Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Clinton lost against Daniel back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Red Devils took a 41-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions.

When it comes to explaining why Clinton lost, don't look at Javen Cook. Despite the final result, he rushed for 156 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Cook showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 63 yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Daniel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trey Wimbley, who picked up 80 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Emmanuel Major handled things on the ground, rushing for 80 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Clinton now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Daniel, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Clinton will venture away from home to take on Union County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils will be up against the Yellowjackets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.2 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Daniel, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Seneca at 7:30 p.m. The Lions will need to watch out since the Bobcats have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
