Preview: McDade Bulldogs vs. Calvert Trojans
The McDade Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Calvert Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Calvert took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on McDade, who comes in off a win.
McDade's six-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Buckholts 47-20 at home. McDade's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
McDade relied on the efforts of Summer Jacobs, who scored 12 points along with seven steals, and Steffanie Zavala, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Zavala has scored all season. Jessica Dube was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with ten rebounds and five steals.
Calvert played against North Zulch and lost via forfeit.
McDade's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Calvert, they bumped their record down to 0-1 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
McDade won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, slipping by Calvert 1-0. Does McDade have another victory up their sleeve, or will Calvert turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
