Warren Central hasn't had much luck against Lawrence North recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Warriors will face off against the Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Saturday, Warren Central needed a bit of extra time to put away Anderson. They had just enough and edged out the Indians 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since April 23rd.

Keith Jackson made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI. Warren Central is undefeated when Jackson posts two or more runs, but 1-16-1 otherwise.
In other batting news, Dylan Thompson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Xavier Ott, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lawrence North had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Titans as they made off with a 12-1 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Like Warren Central, Lawrence North also got a great game from a two-way player: Brendan Boynton. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Boynton has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anthony Ludington, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Matthew Cunningham was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
Warren Central's win bumped their record up to 6-16-1. As for Lawrence North, their victory bumped their record up to 13-14.
Warren Central couldn't quite get it done against Lawrence North in their previous matchup back in April as they fell 8-3. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
