Basketball Recap: Cole Kuykendall Key Part of a Team Effort in Trojans Win

There's no place like home for Tuscarawas Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Sandy Valley Cardinals by a score of 58-49 on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Cardinals back in January, they had to take a 56-47 loss.

Tuscarawas Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cole Kuykendall, who went 5 for 6 on his way to 12 points. The dominant performance also gave Kuykendall a new career-high in field goal percentage (83%). Another player making a difference was Brody May, who went 7 of 13 en route to 17 points and eight rebounds.

Tuscarawas Valley's record is now 5-15. As for Sandy Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tuscarawas Valley will take on Minerva at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Minerva has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Sandy Valley, they will take on Conotton Valley in a tournament on Saturday.
