Football Recap: Chugiak Falls to North Pole in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Chugiak unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 36-23 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Pole Patriots on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 21-10 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

North Pole's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ean Checque, who threw for 314 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.2 yards per attempt, and also punched in a pair of scores on the ground. The Patriots' leading receiver Landon Ritter was Checque's top target yet again, picking up 186 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
