Grayson County wins going away against Galax

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against George Wythe, the Grayson County Blue Devils were happy to have found some success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 28-14 win over Galax. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Grayson County also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Eli Gillespie had a dynamite game for Grayson County, rushing for 179 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Gillespie was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. Keyshawn Phipps also helped out with an impressive 93 receiving yards.
Grayson County's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Galax, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Grayson County will be playing at home against Giles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Giles is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Galax, they will head out on the road to face off against Bath County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
