Basketball Recap: Connersville Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Connersville can now relate to. They lost 61-41 to the New Castle Trojans on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-47 back in January.

Despite the loss, Connersville still got an impressive performance from Jadan Peterson, who went 5-for-12 en route to 16 points. Peterson is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Hunter Allen, who shot 71% from the field to rack up 12 points.

Landon Thompson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for New Castle, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards. Mason Miller was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Connersville has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season. New Castle moved to 9-14 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Connersville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Castle, they have already played their next game, a 50-37 loss against Delta on the 8th.
