Basketball Recap: Ruthanna Wilson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Escalante

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Manila walked away with it. They strolled past the Escalante Moquis with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 63-48. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 54-23 win the Moquis walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2021.

Manila's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ruthanna Wilson, who posted 13 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. Manila is 10-3 when Wilson posts three or more steals, but 5-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kallie Bair, who shot 45% from the field en route to 14 points.

Manila's record now sits at 15-10. As for Escalante, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-13.

Manila has already played their next matchup, a 56-38 loss against Panguitch on the 27th. As for Escalante, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 36-32 victory against Altamont on the 27th.
