Libby had won three straight at home, but on Friday they bumped up to 3-1 to make it four. They walked away with a 31-20 win over the Polson Pirates. The high-scoring effort was just what the Loggers needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Tristan Andersen produced another solid effort rushing for 121 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 202 yards and a pair of TDs. His longest rush was for an impressive 52 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Bransen Holzer was in the mix too, providing Libby with two scores.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Libby proved: they limited Polson to a paltry 3.4 yards per carry. The Loggers didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.9.

As for Polson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Polson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Holden Emerson, who picked up 57 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Emerson didn't just play on offense: he also made six total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended one pass in addition to snagging an interception. Case Cox was another key player, throwing for 233 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
