Basketball Recap: Dunellen Starts off Right with Win over Henry Hudson

Dunellen had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They strolled past the Henry Hudson Admirals with points to spare, taking the game 44-30. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Destroyers also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.

Dunellen got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jahzara McLaughlin out in front who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine steals. Another player making a difference was Sophie Jimenez, who posted 15 points and six steals.

Henry Hudson is on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Dunellen will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Highland Park at 3:00 p.m. As for Henry Hudson, they will head out to face off against South Amboy at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
