The Altha Wildcats will take on the Leon Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Leon will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Altha extended their winning streak to four on Friday. The Wildcats' pitcher stepped up to hand Sneads a 20-0 shutout. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Tarrin McCrone made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs, eight RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, Hope Tanner and Reagan Roberts did most of the damage at the plate: Tanner scored three runs while going 4-for-5, while Roberts scored five runs while going 2-for-4. Those five runs gave Roberts a new career-high. Carrington Scott was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Altha was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Leon made sure to put some runs up on the board against Buchholz on Saturday. The Lions were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Bobcats.
Leon got a massive performance out of Trinity Williams, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Cynthia Conte, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Leon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Altha, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Altha has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .446. However, it's not like Leon struggles in that department as they've averaged .516. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
