Basketball Game Preview: Burlington Huskies vs. Riverside Rebels

Burlington has won seven straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Riverside has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Burlington Huskies will host the Riverside Rebels at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Burlington was fully in charge, breezing past Greybull 48-14. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 29 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Riverside didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Bridger/Belfry on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 58-52 victory. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 35th in Wyoming, while Bridger/Belfry are ranked 109th in Montana), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Burlington is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.6 points per game. As for Riverside, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.

Everything went Burlington's way against Riverside in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Burlington made off with a 51-30 victory. Does Burlington have another victory up their sleeve, or will Riverside turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
