Volleyball Recap: Marion Comes Up Short

Marion was the 3-0 winner over Manning when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Swamp Foxes fell just short of the Monarchs by a score of 3-2 on Thursday.

Marion actually scored more points across those five sets (103-100), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-23, 9-25, 26-28, 15-12.

Ameerah Conyers had a dynamite game For Manning., getting 15 aces, six kills, and two blocks. Tamia Watson was another key player, getting six kills and five aces.

Marion's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Manning, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Coincidentally, Marion and Manning will both be playing East Clarendon the next time they take the court. The Swamp Foxes will head out to face the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Monarchs will host them at 6:00 p.m. on the 30th.
