Basketball Game Preview: Oakland Patriots vs. Cookeville Cavaliers

Oakland is 1-6 against Cookeville since November of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Oakland Patriots will take on the Cookeville Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five losses in a row dating back to last season, Oakland turned things around against Mount Juliet on Tuesday. They walked away with a 56-48 win over the Golden Bears. The Patriots' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Cookeville didn't have too much trouble with Farragut on Tuesday as they won 42-28.

Cookeville's win came from a few key players Oakland will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cara Lee Gilbert, who posted nine points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Charlie Roby, who put up three points in addition to seven assists and seven boards.

Oakland's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Cookeville, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Oakland didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Cookeville in their previous matchup back in February, but they still walked away with a 66-60 victory. Does Oakland have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cookeville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
