Softball Recap: Valley Comes Up Short

Valley extended their losing streak to seven on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 7-19 in the process. They lost 12-6 to the Beulah Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, with their most recent defeat being a 6-3 loss back in March.

As for Beulah, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-15-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the game before.

For Beulah's part, Madyson Snedigar made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Snedigar has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Tapley, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Lilly Grant was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

While Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
