Sunny Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Villa Park Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 on April 1st.

Riley Gonzalez and Elayna Marquez did some serious damage despite the final result: Gonzalez went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI, while Marquez went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. That home run marked the first that Gonzalez has launched this season. Samaya Holguin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Sunny Hills now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Villa Park, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
