Baseball Recap: Olympic Comes Up Short

After flying high against Klahowya on Wednesday, Olympic came back down to earth. The Trojans fell just short of the Kingston Buccaneers by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The Trojans have struggled against the Buccaneers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Chase Beninger made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Gavin Wells, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Olympic's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Kingston, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9.

Coming up, Olympic will take on Shelton at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Kingston, they will head out to square off against Port Angeles at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Roughriders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Buccaneers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
