Volleyball Recap: Whitewater Comes Up Short

Whitewater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cambria-Friesland Hilltoppers.

Sydney Schilt paced Whitewater's offense, picking up nine kills. Schilt got some help from Mya Graves-Koran and her ten assists. Schilt was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Janell Villareal went supernova For Cambria-Friesland., getting 16 digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Villareal a new career-high.

Whitewater's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Cambria-Friesland, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.

Whitewater didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Lincoln Academy on the 20th. As for Cambria-Friesland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Dodgeland on the 20th.
