Basketball Game Preview: Brandon Academy Scorpions vs. Pepin Academy

The Brandon Academy Scorpions will square off against Pepin Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Brandon Academy has seven straight wins, Pepin Academy has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Friday, Brandon Academy took their match with ease, bagging a 64-25 victory over Ridgeview Global Studies Academy. The Scorpions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.

Brandon Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Rashad Carriera, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds, and Chris Harris, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 boards. Harris is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Aaron Miller-Holmes, who posted ten points.

Pepin Academy played against Cristo Rey Tampa and lost via forfeit.

Brandon Academy's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Pepin Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
