Basketball Recap: Wabash Comes Up Short

Wabash was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. 2025 welcomed they with a 56-31 loss courtesy of the Logansport Berries. The Apaches were down 45-24 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Wabash saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jarrett Mcwhirt went 5 of 11 en route to 11 points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Wabash smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Chris Anthony Delvalle was nothing short of spectacular for Logansport: he went 9 of 11 on his way to 26 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Delvalle a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of RJ Clem, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards.

Wabash's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Logansport, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.

When Wabash and Logansport next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Wabash will try to stop Tipton's four-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on January 14th. Meanwhile, Logansport will try to stop Lafayette Jefferson's six-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
