Baseball Recap: Perquimans Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

With a playoff win on the line, Perquimans rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Falls Lake Firebirds. Winning may never get old, but the Pirates sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Ben Brown was excellent, going 1-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Askew, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Perquimans was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .364 or higher in four consecutive games.

Perquimans' victory bumped their record up to 23-5. As for Falls Lake, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-12.

As of now, neither Perquimans nor the Firebirds have any future games scheduled.
