Basketball Game Preview: Carolina International Comets vs. Piedmont Community Charter Patriots

Carolina International hasn't had much luck against Piedmont Community Charter recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Carolina International Comets are taking a road trip to face off against the Piedmont Community Charter Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Neither Carolina International nor Piedmont Community Charter posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Carolina International is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They took a blow against Jackson Day, falling 79-3. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 601st, while the Mariners are ranked 206th).

Meanwhile, Piedmont Community Charter played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Christ the King and fell 62-25. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Piedmont Community Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Carolina International, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Carolina International was taken down by Piedmont Community Charter 67-37 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Carolina International avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
