Basketball Recap: South Cougars vs. Derby Panthers
It was a proper cat-fight when South duked it out with Derby on Tuesday. The South Cougars took a blow against the Derby Panthers, falling 66-34. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Jaxon Myers and Gavin Devoe certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Myers posted eight points, while Devoe put up ten points. Derby was led to victory by Jaxson Malvo and Cale Clingan. Malvo earned 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals, while Clingan made all 5 shots he took to post 16 points. Malvo is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last seven games he's played. Channing Marshall was another key player, putting up eight points.
South's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Derby, their victory was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-1.
South didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-47 defeat against Hutchinson on the 28th. As for Derby, they have also already played their next game, a 59-55 win against Maize on the 27th.
