Baseball Recap: Hicksville Comes Up Short

After flying high against Hilltop on Monday, Hicksville came back down to earth. The Aces lost 20-6 to the Tinora Rams on Tuesday. The Aces were not able to make up for their defeat to the Rams from their previous meeting back in April of 2022.

Parker Bassett was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Hicksville's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

Hicksville's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Tinora, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hicksville will face off against rival Fairview at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Tinora is set to square off against their familiar foe Ayersville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Rams' favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Pilots have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
