Baseball Recap: DeKalb Comes Up Short

DeKalb has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.65 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They fell 12-9 to the Leo Lions. If the Barons were looking for revenge after losing 5-0 to the Lions when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Drake Hall was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Brady Vince was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

DeKalb's loss dropped their record down to 19-4. As for Leo, their record now sits at an identical 19-4.

Coming up, DeKalb will square off against Pendleton Heights at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Leo, they will be playing at home against Huntington North at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
